Who says love can’t show up on your doorstep, completely unexpected?
Who says love can’t show up on your doorstep, completely unexpected?
Quincy
I have a plan, and it doesn’t include falling for the older, hot single dad who convinced me to be his short-term nanny.
So, I will leave my small town and my broken heart behind and go back to college.
Or so I told myself.
But now I’m starting to wonder if my plan has room for an unexpected happily ever after…
Knox
To say I was overwhelmed when I found a baby on my doorstep would be an understatement.
Quincy saved me when she stepped in to help.
The last thing I need is a no-strings fling with a twenty-something woman with her whole life ahead of her. I should walk away, no matter how much I want her.
But I don’t.
Now, I need to figure out how to let her go when the time comes. Preferably without breaking her heart. Or mine…

Older single dad and younger nanny? Yes…but this story is a lot more than that.
Knox has multiple surprises - perhaps the most overwhelming one being a small bundle left in his SUV. But who’s the other surprise? Quincy.
She may be 14 years younger, but with losing her mother at a young age and caring for her younger half-siblings, Quincy has a lot of life experience.
And…some of that experience is something Knox needs now…someone who can help care for a baby.
This is a sweet, sometimes emotional story but one that will keep you entertained throughout!
Having "bounced around" this series, I've read the Prequel, Book 1 and this one, Book 4. Not only was it easy to pop into this most recent book, but it was seamless and I'm looking forward to going back to read Books 2 and 3. This reinforces what I've already realized: Amy Knupp gives readers ALL the feels and as a new reader, I was effortlessly and fully engaged. I loved Knox and Quincy and their story pulled at all the heart-strings. Excellent read and I highly recommend.
WHAT I LIKED: Romantic-Steamy-Witty-Wonderful Characters-Happily Ever After
While this can be enjoyed as a stand alone - because there's so many updates for couples from the previous books I think it’s best enjoyed after those, starting with Unraveled. Also, this review includes spoilers to earlier books.
My absolute favorite of the series. Not only does this have some of my favorite tropes/themes: age gap, nanny, small town, found family - but I adored how deeply Knupp allowed me to get to know these characters. Knox's big announcement at the end of Undone about being a previously unknown son of Henry patriarch, Simon, is huge. This begins with the fallout, good and bad, of that revelation. THEN poor Knox has a baby dropped off with nothing but a note claiming it's his.
Don't want to spoil it, but all the fun (well, for us as readers) of the completely unprepared and incompetence regarding all things baby is glorious. Enter 28yo Quincy who, despite being 14 years his junior, has years of childcare experience and innate connection with kids. I enjoyed how realistic and relatable living with a baby Juniper's age is. Balanced with the cuteness, parenting victories, and milestones, this is not a baby who conveniently disappears or never cries.
I love how Knupp weaves Knox & Quincy's romance throughout all this chaos. It makes for great pacing and a truly believable relationship. Evolving from "just physical with a time limit" to something so much more. Not only do they have to discover what they each really want in life but also how that includes the other. When they finally end up together for real - I cheered.
I love epilogues and there's two that serve as the perfect HEA for Knox & Quincy as well as wrapping up the entire series.
What a fantastic book - I just wanted to keep reading! Love the whole big North/Henry family dynamic. After Knox having his own family secret surprise and then ending up with a surprise baby left for him, Quincy helps him manage his new life as a dad. Their relationship, despite the age difference, was well developed and steamy! I also like how Quincy found her own path for her life and what she loved to do. The added epilogues were a bonus! It’s great to see how characters are years later…and maybe even a set up with new characters for another book! Can’t wait to read more from Amy!
4.5 Stars
I really enjoyed this story. Quincy and Knox are such great characters. When Knox is in a bind Quincy steps up to help and a whole different path for their lives opens up for both of them.
